During COVID-19 we re-configured our factory to enable us to fulfil our NHS front line PPE apron orders and have since consistently manufactured in excess of 1 million aprons per day.

As the country adjusts to our new 'normal' and with safety in mind, we are now manufacturing Back to Work PPE products which offer a waterproof protection and infection barrier and are avaliable for despatch today.

With the news dominated by Coronavirus, we wanted to let you know that we are closely monitoring the guidance provided through Public Health England and HM Government regarding the spread of the virus and our focus is to ensure we meet customer needs whilst keeping our staff and colleagues safe.

We currently remain unaffected and have no suspected cases of COVID-19, however as a BRC accredited factory we are taking this very seriously and although our hygiene and cleaning regimes are already very much in place, we are doing everything we possibly can to remain fully operational with implementing the following:-

  • We have briefed all of our staff on the current government advice relating to hygiene, social distancing and physical contact, and expect them to adhere to this advice when on site.
  • All of our staff are having their temperatures measured daily and are being briefed on any new government updates and guidelines on a regular basis. We have communicated to all staff the requirement for enhanced frequency and standard of hand washing.
  • We have increased the frequency of cleaning within our facilities during opening hours with recommended BRC sanitising products. We have specifically targeted high traffic areas such as Reception and main Factory entrances.
  • Our business premises have various hand sanitiser dispensers positioned around the facility.
  • We have notified all of our customers and supply chain of some simple steps we have taken to manage our customer/supplier process as we move forward through this difficult period.
  • We take the welfare of our staff very seriously, so we have instructed any employee who feel ill to stay home should they have any of the known viral symptoms.

As Bloomfield Packaging are a vital part in both the Food and NHS polythene packaging chain we have suitable plans and strategies in place to ensure that we remain fully operational until we are advised otherwise, when we will then address our procedures accordingly.

We realise that this is a challenging time; however during this time of uncertainty our employees have remained positive and risen to the challenge which Covid-19 has brought to our business.

Thank you for your continuing support.
